Dress Refashion: Part 2

I finally finished Rilo's portion of the dress refashion.  Originally I was going to make a dress, but after a few mishaps, it turned into a shirt.  It's not quite perfect yet, and needs a few little touches if she's going to wear it again, but I think it's cute.  It has a retro vibe to me.  Reminds me of Grease or something.

As you can see in the above photo, I had a little assistant.  Thanks to Josie for her "help"! :)

And in case you missed it, here's a link to Part 1.

Bow Pencil Skirt

Heart heart heart this pencil skirt with a big bow on it!  Kudos to Liz from Say Yes to Hoboken!

It's just the jumpstart I need for this week!  I picked up some fun vintage fabrics at the thrift store over the weekend.  Now I need to start on some sewing projects I've been meaning to do!

Burda Style

I was looking through some of my bookmarks and stumbled upon the link to Burda Style.  I had completely forgotten about this awesome site!  Tons and tons of sewing patterns for you to download.  You download them right to your computer and then print them out.  Some are free and the ones that aren't are usually around $5.  You can also look at pictures of what people have made using the patterns. With all of my new fabric I just bought, I am definitely going to try some of these out!

Felt House

I would've loved to play make-believe with the awesome card table felt house. There are 4 different sides: grocery store, ice cream shop, bank and post office. Such a great idea! Lots of sewing and lots of love definitely went into this!

{Found via OhDeeDoh via Sew Can Do}

Speaking of sewing, I checked my favorite fabric Etsy shop, Fabricworm and saw some beautiful new fabrics out. I have a love affair with fabric. I would buy them ALL if I could.

Dresses

After seeing a post on Oh Happy Day about Katie Did's dresses for her daughters, I checked out her site. I would like this dress for me and for my future daughter. The back buttons, the sleeves...swoon.
The rest of her site is filled with more of the most darling outfits for her daughters.

My next dresses come from Shabby Apple. I'm posting these for two reasons: 1) I love the dresses 2) My very good friend Michelle happened to photograph these pictures for their site! Way to go Michelle!

Lastly, I found this dress on Etsy, in Marie'sVintageShop. She has tons of vintage apparel and accessories. The plus side about her site: the shoes come in various sizes NOT just size 6! I always have the hardest time with vintage shoes being too small!
I think this would be a cute pregnancy dress!
(not an announcement)

I might die of heat out here if I wore this 70's sweater dress, but I sure do love it anyway.
