The Weekend + A Video

My sweet husband surprised me with an early anniversary date this weekend.  He had a friend come over to watch Rilo while we went on a picnic.  We picked up SLAB pizza and went to a nice grassy spot.  After our dinner, we ate delicious cupcakes from the Sweet Tooth Fairy, drank some Martinelli's and I opened my present...a Canon video camera!  I love it because I've been wanting to make little videos, but my iPhone is the old version, without video capabilities.  Now I can make fun family videos!  (Remember when you would have to watch hours and hours of tapes of home videos?  And remember those tourists who would film all the stars on the street in Hollywood and all the scenery?  Do you think they ever watched that?!  Thank goodness I can just download the video to my computer and edit the videos...so much nicer!)

Isn't this the most perfect picnic basket?  It was a birthday gift from Adam last September.  He is the ultimate gift giver!

And on an unrelated tangent:
Here's a video I've been seeing all over the blogosphere.  If you haven't seen this video yet, you must watch it!  It is the new theme song for a "smart girl" talk show called "The Girls With Glasses", with Brooke White (American Idol) and Summer Bellessa (ELIZA magazine).  I am in LOVE with every single dress in the video.  They are supposed to be coming out with the source list soon and I can't wait!  I seriously have watched the video several times just to look at the dresses again.

Have You Noticed A Theme Yet...

...I love dresses. I used to wear them every day in the summer! I'm always drawn to dresses online or in the store. You may have noticed from all the posts on dresses by now.

Today, I hopped over to one of Cjane's blogs, and saw she posted about eShatki. She mentioned they made completely customizable dresses. Sleeves/no sleeves, v-neck/round neck, shorter/longer, bigger here/smaller there...you get the idea. Well, that's neat and all, but all I could guess when I clicked the link was that I could not afford a $200 customized dress.

Except...I only saw 2 digits in the price. Most of the dresses are between $39 and $59 dollars. What?! They do charge a $15 fee if you want to customize, but really?! A dress that could be made completely for me for less than $80. That's pretty good. Especially if you had a wedding or event to attend! Plus, they have tops, bottoms, accessories, etc. And it's all very cute. I think that I will pick out a dress to reward myself post-pregnancy.

Love this yellow dress.
Maybe put an elbow lenth sleeve on this one?!

Or maybe even this yellow one?

Check it out here.

Dresses

After seeing a post on Oh Happy Day about Katie Did's dresses for her daughters, I checked out her site. I would like this dress for me and for my future daughter. The back buttons, the sleeves...swoon.
The rest of her site is filled with more of the most darling outfits for her daughters.

My next dresses come from Shabby Apple. I'm posting these for two reasons: 1) I love the dresses 2) My very good friend Michelle happened to photograph these pictures for their site! Way to go Michelle!

Lastly, I found this dress on Etsy, in Marie'sVintageShop. She has tons of vintage apparel and accessories. The plus side about her site: the shoes come in various sizes NOT just size 6! I always have the hardest time with vintage shoes being too small!
I think this would be a cute pregnancy dress!
(not an announcement)

I might die of heat out here if I wore this 70's sweater dress, but I sure do love it anyway.
