Bloggers Give Back

I'm so excited to be a part of Bloggers Give Back Project.  If you haven't heard about it yet, you can read all about it here.  In a brief summary, bloggers are coming together, donating goods and services for a family in need.  You will be able to bid so many great items, just in time for the holidays!  Not only will you have a chance to win something wonderful, but you'll also be helping out someone else during this season.  I'll be offering a custom card/invitation.  Christmas card, baby shower, bridal shower, birthday...you name it, I'll make it!  But go here to check out all the other awesome things up for bid!  Bidding will begin December 15th!

Comedy Sportz

On Adam and I's second or third date, we went out to a nice Italian dinner and then went to Comedy Sportz.  We've gone several times in the past few years to Comedy Sportz...We love it!  If you've never been, you must go.  It's interactive improv comedy and it's a blast!  I've heard it compared to the show Whose Line Is It Anyway.  It's also one of the only family friendly comedy shows out there.

I just heard some sad news from Adam's sister, Melissa.  The LA Comedy Sportz is going to have to close its doors.  This is especially sad for our family because Melissa's husband Jay did Comedy Sportz in California for 12 years, some of those years at the LA venue.  If you want to support the LA Comedy Sportz, and try to save the LA venue, you can purchase tickets here.  If you're not in the LA area, good news!  You can still buy tickets and redeem them at your local Comedy Sportz location.  There a several locations nationwide...Philly, D.C., Chicago, several cities in Texas, Provo, etc.  See here for a full list of locations and here to purchase.  They are selling tickets for a great price...4 for $50 (about $12.50 a ticket).  Grab some friends and go laugh til your cheeks hurt!

Haiti

I stumbled upon the blog for Amelia Lyon Photography over a year ago. Shortly thereafter I had one of those weird blogging moments. You know, one of those moments where you completely recognize someone and think that you know them. And then you realize you only know them through their blog. Then you have to decide if you want to say something and possibly come off as a complete weirdo or just go about your merry way without saying a thing. Amelia and Justin, the husband and wife photography team, live near Adam's sister in California. Luckily when I ran into them, Justin was very nice and I didn't end up regretting my decision to say hi.

Anyway, the point to all of this is...have you seen Justin's photos and read the stories from his recent trip to Haiti? So emotional and so beautiful. You must check out his post.

Jonathan Bartlett is a friend of mine from high school. He is an illustrator living in New York City. You have to check out his website to see his work! He currently has a print being sold by a charity called Small Can Be Big. The idea is 100% of donations to this charity, big or small, go directly to helping a family avoid homelessness, buy paying rent or a bill, etc,. I love this print and the message behind it. I'm thinking it should go in the nursery! You can buy the print here.
