Tea Towels

I've been thinking about ways to add some more color into the kitchen.  We have some accessories in orange and yellow and I decided that a fun tea towel would add something extra in to the kitchen.  Here are some options I found on Etsy:

And speaking of the kitchen, it is 99% done.   I would like to wait to post until the new blog is (finally) up and running.  We've been working on some minor coding issues but they should be resolved ASAP.  Do you feel like I'm that guy who says he's going to call, but never does and is just totally leading you on?!  Because that is how I feel right now.   I don't want to make any more promises on the launch of the new blog or the kitchen reveal or I might have to break out into my favorite 3LW song..."I'm gettin real tired of your broken promises, promises".  A song which I sing to Adam all the time.  I sincerely hope it's up on Monday and I can show the kitchen Tuesday but I'm not getting my hopes up!

Doll House Suitcase

I posted a few weeks ago about my friends Stacy's cute felt animal headbands she made for her daughter.  Well I had to share this other project she made for her little girl.  A handmade doll, a suitcase home and some clothes and accessories.  I can't wait until Rilo is a bit older, so she can appreciate fun gifts like this!

That is one stylish little doll!  To see and read more about Stacy's doll and doll house, see here.

Felt Animal Headbands

Wouldn't these make the sweestest gift for those little animal lovers you know?  Stacy from Hart + Sew made these felt animal headbands for her little girl.

I like to make a few handmade gifts each year.  Adam and I have a fun gift idea up our sleeves, if we can hurry and finish them for our nieces and nephews.  Are you making anything handmade this year?  We also have 2 Christmas related projects we should have finished to share next week!  Have a great weekend!

Ashmae

I love these prints from Ashmae.  She does the perfet watercolors of animals, but I especially love her custom portraits.  I'm in the process of sending her a picture for a certain family member's Christmas present.  I can't wait to see what she does with it!  Here's some of her work:

Here's a custom house painting for someone.  Such a cute idea.

Check out her Etsy here.

Bijou Finds

What a weekend!  Bijou Market was Friday and Saturday and I spent most of both days helping Melanie with her booth.  Melanie's booth was a smashing success!  It was so fun to see the vendors plus see everyone who came to check it out.  I picked up more than a few items while I was there too!  Here's what I got:

Baby moccasins from Freshly Picked, naturally.

A shirt from Autumn Dame

A print from Sugar Fresh

And probably my favorite purchase...a wooden toy camera for Rilo from Twig.   I love wooden toys. Plus the best part about it is that the strap is the same exact fabric as my camera strap.  When I saw the houndstooth strap, I knew it had to be mine!

And of course, some of Melanie's perfect cards!

What a great weekend.  Can't wait to finish up some Christmas projects that I'll be sharing!

Doorway Puppet Theater

We're still out and about visiting family and friends, but I have internet now!  Woo hoo!  Sorry for the no show yesterday.

Two summers ago I saw an idea for a puppet theater in a Country Living magazine.  I loved the idea and decided to make it for my niece and nephews.  I never took any pictures of it before I sent it off for their birthdays.  While we were visiting them last week in California, they put the theater up and got out their puppets.  Here is the one from the Country Living magazine.

And here is the one I made in action.

It was a really simple project!  Plus, what's better than a gift that inspires imagination and creativity!  For instructions on how to make a doorway puppet theater, see here.

Early Birthday

Adam's Mom sent me my early birthday presents.  Two sewing books!  I've had my eye on this book by Martha for awhile now:

And she also picked out this vintage book called Sew Retro.

I've been flipping through them and I love them so far.  They both have some really great projects that I can't wait to start on!  Such thoughtful gifts!!

Baby Week

Continuing with my theme of "baby" all week long, I thought I would share two things I love right now. I think these onesies are absolutely adorable. I love the fun fabric choices.

I'm also loving these adorable books. My friend Whit, gave me "In My Nest" for my baby shower. Now I have 2 others in the series. They really are such sweet little books and I love that each of them has a finger puppet. Around here, you can find them at Costco, but you can also find them on Amazon.

Hope you all have a happy weekend! We'll be catching up on sleep and snuggling our little baby! Next week, I have some inspiration boards to share and hopefully the big bathroom reveal.
