Tulle

I just found out about the clothing site Tulle.  Have you heard of it?  I'm liking a lot of the pieces, especially the skirts.  They have some really great sale prices too!  Now that I've lost almost all of the baby weight, I'm so ready to pick out some new clothes.  Everything here is under $30!

Lonny

So happy the new Lonny magazine is out.   I love the online magazine idea, but I hope real magazines stick around.  There's something about getting something in the mail and then flipping through the glossy pages that I love.  But I'm happy to have a Domino replacement!

Love everything about this room.  The stripes, the colors, the lighting, the headboards...so perfect.

Love the mirror in the above image.  Seems like something you could replicate pretty easily.

This ceiling is so interesting.  And the wall color?  Wow!

Pudding Cups

Liz over at Say Yes to Hoboken posted about Bakerella's Pudding Cups.  How did I miss the original post?!  They look amazing!!  I'm filing these away for the next birthday party I throw.

I even think I can do a modified non-dairy version for me.  I just might have to attempt these this weekend just to see how they turn out!

2 Years + 200 Posts

 {image}

Today marks 2 whole years since I started this blog and Monday was my 200th post!  I really can't believe it's been that long (and that I've had that much to say).  I'm so happy that I'm able to keep in touch with family and friends.  Plus I've also loved all of the new connections I've made over the past 2 years!  I love the growth and evolution of this blog and can't wait to see where it goes next...It's been such a great outlet for me!  Thanks for reading and being a big part of this blog!

Jessica's Graduation Party: Part Two

Bear with me because part two is more for family and friends in attendance.  Here are the pictures of some of the guests.

Chef Dave and his assistant, Shane.  Love that little brother of mine.

I was coveting her darling baby bump the whole party!  She is the most beautiful pregnant lady!

Jessica's Graduation Party: Part One

It was a long day, but I think the graduation party was a huge success!  We had a bit of a weather scare for the first half hour of the party and had to move the food into the garage instead of under the tent.  But the rain and wind cleared up and it turned out to be a beautiful day.

The Details:

The centerpieces included a fabric square, vintage books, a composition notebook, flowers from the local wholesale warehouse, a senior picture and Lemonheads.

I ordered the tissue poms from Pom Love.  They were great and I LOVED that she had a houndstooth option.  The tissue paper garland was inspired from Jordan's post on Project Wedding.

For the food, we had footlong subs...They had the most delicious bread!  The rest of the yummy food was prepared by Chef Dave Graci, who is a good friend of the family.  The adorable cake was done by Sugar Mountain Cakes.  Lisa was wonderful to work with.  She sent us a ton of photos and drawings of possible cake ideas and we worked together to come up with a custom cake.

This was a little area we had set up with senior photos of Jess, some of her accomplishments in frames and a gift area.

And here's the graduate:

I'll post Part Two tomorrow, which will include photos of the guests.

So I Caved

Well I caved.  I'm a little late in the game, but I signed up for Formspring.    You can ask me where I got something, how I did something, what I ate for dinner or how come my daughter is so stinking cute.  Most anything really.  Click here if you have something you'd like to know.  I'm still holding out on Twitter though.  I can't even get into status updates on Facebook, let alone a whole site of status updates!

Love this pretty image of strawberries.  It screams summer to me!  I'll be eating a whole lot of fruit at Jess' party since I can't partake in most of the other yummy treats we plan on serving.  Looking forward to a weekend of visiting with family, friends and throwing the graduation party!  Enjoy your weekend!

Summer Rental Redesign: Curtains

I bought the curtain fabric back home at Home Fabrics.  It was my inspiration for the whole room! Instead of sewing the curtains, I used Stitch Witchery and ironed the curtain seams.  Much simpler!  They weren't quite long enough so I sewed on some additional fabric and hot glued a piece of trim along the seam.

The curtains are really more for show than anything.  They frame the sliding glass door.  I didn't want to buy a curtain rod since one of that size would be expensive.  Instead I picked up some sticky velcro squares and stuck one onto the existing blinds track and the other on the back of the curtains.  Not something I would normally do, but it saved me money and made more sense than buying a huge curtain rod I wouldn't use again!

{Don't mind the poor quality photos...I tried to snap some right before flying out to PA and was apparently in too much of a hurry to check to make sure they turned out...The focus isn't even on the velcro square, which is what I was attempting to show!}

Adam is such a good husband and is working on our TV stand while I'm gone.  He should be done by the time we get back and the room will pretty much be complete!

Summer Rental Redesign: Coffee Table Before/After

When we bought the coffee table and end tables, I really didn't like them.  I bought them out of desperation.  I wasn't finding anything that would work within my budget.  I was worried if I passed up this set for $30 I would spend the rest of the summer searching.  Here is a before shot:

Can I just say I LOVE them now?  We used a couple of cans of Rust Oleum's Navajo White and now they look brand new.  Maybe even a little Pottery Barn-esque.  Here is the after:

And here's a little sneak peek of some more of the room.  As you can see, I still don't have pictures in the frames just yet, but the room is closer to being done!
I bought the blue decorative paper from Joann's on sale for $1 each and the vases were also $1.   I made the plain blue pillow cover for the existing couch cushion and the Liberty of London pillow was $9 clearance at Target.  I plan on taking it home with me at the end of the summer!

This and That

Just a few things I'm liking these days.

How amazing are these notebooks?  From the choice of color to the hilarious titles, I am in love!

This room is so well done, I can't get over it.  The colors are lovely together.  It's so perfectly balanced.

I have been wanting this jewelry holder and now it's on sale.  I really want it for Rilo's room, though she doesn't have any need for it since she doesn't have jewelry.

I realized when Adam and I went out to dinner a few weekends ago sans baby, that I only brought out my diaper bag.  I forgot a normal purse!  Aldo has some nice neutral ones on sale for under $30.

And in Rental Redesign news, I finished up the curtains for the living room and the headboard.  Just a few details left until the rooms are done!  I'll post some pictures the next few days of the rooms coming together.
